W/Mo Hammer Build
Class: Warrior / Monk
Attributes: (cost) '+' indicates Rune attributes
Strength: 9+1 (48)
Hammer Mastery: 12+1 (97)
Smiting Prayers: 9 (48)
Total attribute points used: 193/200
Skills: [Attribute] (Energy, Cast Time, Recharge TIme)
1) For Great Justice!' [none] (10,0,45) Shout: For 15 seconds, your adrenal skills charge twice as fast.
2) Crushing Blow [Hammer Mastery] (5,0,10) Hammer Attack: If this attack hits, you strike for +17 damage. If you hit a knocked-down foe, you inflict a deep wound, lowering your target's maximum health by 20% for 18 seconds.
3) Mighty Blow [Hammer Mastery] (0,0,7) Hammer Attack: If this attack hits, you strike for +26 damage.
4) Devastating Hammer [Hammer Mastery] (0,0,7) Hammer Attack: If Devastating Hammer hits, your target is knocked down and suffers from weakness for 18 seconds. This is an elite skill.
5) Scourge Healing [Smiting Prayers] (10,2,5) Hex: For 30 seconds, every time target foe is healed, the healer takes 54 holy damage.
6) Judge's Insight [Smiting Prayers] (10,2,10) Enchantment: For 16 seconds, target ally's attacks deal holy damage and have +20% armor penetration.
7) Bane Signet [Smiting Prayers] (0,2,25) Signet: Target foe takes 44 holy damage. If that foe was attacking, he is knocked down.
8) Resurrection Signet [none] (0,5,0) Signet: Resurrect target party member. You may use this skill only once per mission.
Basically, a monk worse nightmare, FGJ to charge up adrenal skill then use judges insight and bam, wail on them using crushing, mighty, devasting if they run away pop off a bane, my favorite part is if they try to heal themselves scourge is always nice.
Comments and crits are wanted please

Thread moved to The Campfire (build discussion).
There's only one sticky thread in Gladiator's Arena, I can't believe that people are still ignoring it!

Take out Bane Signet, your regular attacks do more damage.
Take out For Great Justice for frenzy.
Get Heavy Blow in there, it works the best with Devastating Hammer.

Take out Bane Signet, put in Holy Strike. Frenzy is a good replacement for Great Justice, the energy cost is just too high and it isn't exactly THAT useful anyway, this isn't AoE. But I would recommend something such as Battle Rage, just incase you get attacked or get caught up in a AoE spell.
Judge's Insight is also relatively high in energy cost to keep up, take that out and put in another Hammer skill. Holy damage is practically the same as lightning damage.

Most certainly Battle Rage and replace the rest with crazy adren. Hammer Skills...
or better yet FGJ + Battle Rage. 4 adrenaline per swing anyone?

Here is my hammer build, although I'm thinking about dropping balth spirit because I don't get targetted too often.

In PvP, unless you're the last one alive, you really don't get targeted. So maybe put in something such as Symbol of Wrath or even Holy Strike. In fact, you're a Hammer user. Why isn't Holy Strike on your list.
Plus, Judge's Insight is useless now you have Lightning dmg.

I didn't know an elem haft canceled out judges, that kinda sucks. And I found that unless I pumped 11 or 12 into smiting that holy strike did about the same damage as a normal swing. I would sooner bring Irrisistable blow or another attack skill.

Use Judge's Insight, I don't know what Uber is talking about.
With 16 Hammer and Judge's Insight, my Irrestible Blow does more damage than Holy Strike when they're knocked down.

If you have a monk secondary, why are you using ressurection signet?

maybe he hasn't found Restore Life or Ressurect, or even Rebirth (best)... I'd suggest you use that ONLY in team arenas (Signet of Ressurection) and use one of the 3 I have mentioned above. If you have, I suggest you use one of them!

This makes sence. I just assumed that it was a build that he was planning on having, and not one that he has/is making out only skills that he already has.

Rebirth is by far the worst PvP ressurect in the game. You lose all energy (bad thing), and their skills are disabled when you res them (another bad thing). The only thing it was going for it is the teleport factor, but I'm pretty sure that's for PvE, as it doesn't gain you much for PvP.
Restore Life on a W/Mo is nice to have.

Judge's Insight makes damage holy and have 20% armor penetration. Lightning haft does the same thing, except it's Lightning damage. I've tried it on many things, so this is not "in theory."

Lightning damage does not mean 25% armor penetration, it means lightning damage. Only skills with 25% armor penetration in their description have the AP, they just happen to all be lightning skills.

Lightning damage does the most damage out of all the elemental upgrades you can put on a weapon. I'm not going to try arguing because frankly I've debated so many times on this matter, it's just tedious.
Buy a fiery/shocking/icy/ebon hilt, try each one on a multitude of monsters, and see which one does the most damage. It's lightning in case you didn't want to waste 4k.
Also, I've used Judge's Insight with lightning, no difference at all. And it was at 11 smiting.

Did you ever think that maybe those mobs had a low lightning resist?
In PvP equipped with a lightning weapon, my guess would be that you would do less damage to a ranger in studded than to a ranger in drakescale. I think the only difference in elemental damage on a weapon is the +resist on your enemies armor, (I also think that it bypasses the +physical on armor, since it's doing elemental damage). Having one trump the rest in damage doesn't seem right.
But then again I don't have any hard facts.

Swapping aftershock for JI kinda kills the whole build. I dunno, I can't really see a good hammer warrior without aftershock/BB. It's a good line but very limited in what is good, unlike sword/axe which have multiple options.
JI>Shocking grip/haft whatever in pure damage. There is no 25% penetration, it's not hidden. On the ther hand, the 20% JI penetration is always there and no armor has defense + against it.

I tried it on Lightning Drakes and Grand Drakes too.
Like I said, I'm not going to argue about it. Either try it for yourself or don't.
